Tea Party

Emma had her first tea party today with Grammy and Ducky, George and Baby. Tante Janet found this Curious George Tea Set for her birthday and Grammy enjoyed having "tea" (well, really it was milk) with Emma. Tante, Emma can't wait to have tea with you!!!

Grammy and Emma poured tea for all of the friends.

Emma made quite a mess. If you look at Grammy's hands, there is milk running everywhere. It sure was fun though.

So much fun!!! Thanks for having tea with me, Grammy!

Emma's Birthday

Emma's special Ducky Cake that Mommy made for her.

The cake for everyone else.

Yum! Emma enjoyed her cake!

Emma had a wonderful birthday! Grammy, Poppa, Uncle Andrew, Aunt Abby, Sam, Uncle Ben and Aunt Erin all came to Cincinnati to celebrate. We had a wonderful weekend and a great party. Emma loved all of the attention, of course! Thank you to everyone for the thoughtful and generous gifts and for making the effort to come to Emma's party. That meant a lot to us. Enjoy the pictures!

Broccoli

Emma and I went grocery shopping this past week and while I was in the other room, she got the broccoli out of the bag and started eating it. I went and got the camera and took some pictures and then got the video camera and she just kept chowing down on the raw broccoli. So cute.

Aunt Sue-Sue

Aunt Sue-Sue and Emma

I came into the room and they were talking and looking out the window for the squirrels in the tree.

Aunt Sue drove 8 hours to visit us last week. She arrived on Wednesday and left on Saturday morning. We had a great time walking and eating lots of fun things. Aunt Sue gave Emma her first taste of chocolate - so appropriate! Emma just loved Aunt Sue and so much enjoyed looking for squirrels, reading books and snuggling with her. We cannot wait to see her again soon. Thanks for coming, Aunt Sue!

Here We Go Steelers!!!

Emma and Mommy were all ready and SUPER EXCITED for the start of the 2009-2010 NFL Season last night. The game was on too late for Emma (although she did manage to see the 4th quarter-but that is another story). Enjoy the video!

Some Updates

Here are some picture and video updates from the last week:

Tante Lil sent Emma this Lil' Sweede onesie when Emma was born. She will no longer stay still for pictures, so this is the best I could do.

Notice her "wings" over her ears. She also looks so big in this picture.

Here is a video of Emma "eating" mashed potatoes with a spoon. Just a note - she cannot eat with a spoon. She was just "practicing"!

This video shows what Emma does all day long...puts things in her cart, pushes it around, takes the items out and repeats the whole process.

Emma got this chair from Nana and Papaw and here is how she sits down in the chair.

Tuesday

Yesterday Emma and I met Aunt Sarah and Sarhea at the park to play. The cousins enjoyed the time to explore and play together. Sarhea is doing so well and is just about ready to walk on her own. It was fun to watch them interact and play together on the slide.

Aunt Sarah with the girls. Emma refused to sit still for any amount of time and definitely did not want to pose for pictures. There was too much to go see and do.

Just catching up!

Sarhea's sweet smile.

The girls took off to play by themselves. So sweet!

Earlier that morning Emma was playing in the kitchen and I walked out and came back in to find her stuck in the pot. HILARIOUS!!!

That afternoon I came around the corner and she was just talking to Raggedy Ann and hugging her. It was so sweet. She put her in the cart and took her out while talking to her for a good twenty minutes. She gave her kisses and pats and then stuck her in the back to push her around. So very sweet.

Putting her in the cart.

Then, to end the day I gave Emma frozen blueberries to help ease the pain of her incoming teeth. This picture only begins to capture what a mess she was with blueberry juice everywhere. It was so cute and she just loved it all!!!
